St Paddy's Night

Last night for St Paddy's day my husband took me out.
OOOO a date night!!
We don't do that often enough!
We went to hear one of his friends bands play at a local club.
We had been to see him play before and his band is pretty good to.
Last time we went, I felt so old. I had the jeans and high heels on. You know, feeling comfy but looking good for my husband at the same time. Yeah, well everyone else there took comfy to the extreme and came in like after work from Home Depot clothes. I am talking work boots, on the girls, and all!!! Oh well, I didn't do my hair and nails for nothing, I just looked more like the Parental Unit keeping her eye on the little hooligans, making sure they didn't get too rowdy.
So this time, I still went with the hair, nails, cute jeans, smart cut shirt with green tank top under neath but skipped the heels and opted for the wedge. I don't get to go out as often and I am gonna treat this as a special event! Figured that classy trumps trashy any day of the week. There were some other couples there this time that dressed like me and my handsome hubby! Like responsible adults out on a date with their significant other!
I liked it!
The best part was that all of us were yawning (pathetic I know) by 11:00 and started taking off. We were all responsible "have to get to work tomorrow" types. Some of us actually started our days at 4:30 in the AM and were tired. Wow that is so sad. Twenty years ago we were coming home at 4:30 now that is when the alarm goes off. Yikes!! I really liked seeing the band play this time though with others like us. They were great.
The entirely best part of the evening though was getting to spend all that time alone-ish with my incredibly handsome husband. He looked so insanely good I was beside myself!! Gosh I love him!! Really though, I love spending time just talking with him. He is such a wonderful person and I so love being around him. I am so glad we had that time together.
It was the best St Patrick's day that I have had.
