Our first Youth Group Metting

Those crazy kids!
Our church has not had a youth group program for quite a while.
I might seem silly but I really think that they are important.
So my friend Pamela and I talked to the rector and got one started.
Yes that means that we are doing it.
Like 2 mothers of 4 munchkins each has that much time right?
Well if your a mom and it is for your offspring you always seem to find a way to get it done, and we are the living proof of that! Yay us!

Pamela and I thought that our first Youth Group anything should be way over the top fun.
What better way to get people involved and want to hang out with us right?
So we chose to attend a comedy show.
Starting off with big laughs seemed like the right foot to start off on as well.
We opened the event up to the youth, their family and friends and anyone who feels young at heart in our parish. We ended up with a bigger response than we had planned. We thought that maybe there would be like 10 people showing up. Wow we had 25! Awesome! Great way to begin!
We started off with Pizza and snacks at church. Becca and Belle were getting everyone laughing with their beautiful glasses that they wore for the occasion. Don't they look lovely?
Then we passed out a driving scavenger hunt to pass the time in the cars because the club that caters to clean family comedy was over an hour away. Everyone was challenged to find things like a red motorcycle, a girl with a ponytail or a hospital. It sounded easy till we were driving through traffic caused by an accident. Yikes! Then you are kinda stuck with the same 35 vehicles for like a half an hour! Oh well, it was still worth the drive. We went to a place called
Comedy Sportz LA.
I would highly recommend going there!
It was hilarious! It was clean humor (which is much harder) and a competition between two teams to see who is funnier. It includes tons of audience participation as well. There is absolutely no way to see the same show twice either. The show was more fun than going to see a specific comic (which I love to do ) because you are part of the show. It is the answers that the audience throws out there that make the show. It is based on silly things that the whole audience picks through out the whole performance. I know that I am being a bit vague, but that is because you have to go see it for yourself! It was so great that we all are planning to go back again!
Well I would have more pictures but my camera was being a stinker.
Down here is a picture of the performers and our youth group.
I told you my camera was being mean.

That is my beautiful niece in the middle and my munchkins on the right.
We all had a great time.

Cool! What a fun night! We have a lot of kids at our church, so groups are made by age and I volunteer with the 5th and 6th grade groups. It is a blast! It's a great opportunity for kids to have a social outlet with peers who share the same values.

Oh, and I love the googly eyes! :)
