Mommy? I am bored.

So the famous words came out of my son's mouth this weekend,
"Mommy, I am bored."
Followed quickly by
"There is nothing to do in this house."
My typical response(and the one he received) is:
"We have tons to do here son. We have games, crafts, tons of books, a trampoline (granted its is raining), soccer balls, you have a bike and a skate board. I am sure one of those things would be fun to to dive into right now. Why don't you pick one of those things?"
"All those things are LAME mom" came grumbling out of his mouth.
It is a rainy day and I knew he was bored because he had just spent 2 days playing with one of his friends. First they were over here then he went and spent the night over there only to come back and play over at our house for like 8 more hours. He was loving all the "boy"time. I was glad we had the opportunity to have such a wonderful weekend for him. They are few and far between. I still had to be the one to say these words to him:
"You are such a smart boy Michael. I bet if you put your mind to it you can find something creatively fun to do. Use your imagination!"

Here is what he came up with.

That is our Chihuahua's pet carrier.
Yes he locked himself in.
(He could get himself out too.)
He was laughing so hard.

He must have done it like 10 times in a row too!

Well, I told him to be creative.
:)
