My son's little dog that he rescued last summer was killed the other day.
It is the most random event too.
A raccoon, the size of a medium dog, came into our yard and stole our dog.
We do not live in an area that has raccoons, much less such large ones.
We looked for hours for the dog.
We made posters just in case.
We checked the pound.
Nothing.
An hour after we left the pound they called us.
They found him.
What was left of him.
If he was not chipped we might never have known what happened to our poor dog for sure.
My son is crushed.
He is sure his dog is playing with Jesus now.
2 dogs in 2 years is not a good average.
So sorry my son.
The one good thing that happened from this is my son was blessed with seeing true friendship.
When his friend Austin found out about Michael Jr's dog, his mom called and asked if they could stop by and visit. Austin came in, gave Michael Jr a hug and handed him a oreo shake from Chick-fil-a. Then he told him how sorry he was about what had happened then they just started hanging out. Austin's sister Faith brought Michael a little note saying how sorry she was about his dog and wrapped it around some little mad libs for him to play and cheer up and also a picture of a bird she had drawn.
They stayed for about an hour, but it made all the difference.
It is terrible that such sad things happen,
but
it is wonderful to see the blessings that God has for us as well,
especially on those truly sad days.

that is so sad :( We had to put our cat to sleep 2 weeks ago and losing a pet that is so loved by someone is terribly hard. I'm glad his friends were able to do their best to cheer him up.
So sorry to hear about the dog.
Austin & Faith have such big hearts, and I'm sure felt horrible for Michael.
Bless his heart, that's so sad!!! But what his friends did is so sweet, puts tears in my eyes.
Poor Willie, and I feel so bad for your son! Losing a pet is so hard, even for an adult. I, too, got teary-eyed when I read what his friend Austin did to help him feel better.
Thank you for your sweet thoughts everyone. Michael Jr really appreciated the kindness from you all. :)
