Yesterday was such a bummer. I really hate the first day of school. Call me crazy all you want but I love having the munchkins here, even when they are yelling and fighting with each other.
They did have a great first day of school though. Aimee LOVED her classes. The teachers for the most part, she really likes. She loves that she is in 8Th grade and that her friends missed her. They all noticed her braces (she did not like that) but her hair got more positive comments. By the way Bridget, when Finley is a bit older we will be hitting you up for hair cuts again. Especially me, oh yes, especially me!
Michael Jr got the most incredible classroom this year! He got the "class of the future" they installed over the summer. It is over the top cool. The desks are all new and a pretty shade of blue. The desk tops are kind of rounded to work well for right or left handed munchkins. They have 2 skylights to take advantage of the sun here in California instead of using the lights. All the kids get laptops to use in class. They have a smart board for the teacher. The class room is just the bomb! The teacher is one that all the munchkins pray they get because he is the kind that teaches hands on and with humor. Thank you Lord. Michael Jr so needed a teacher like that.
Becca's teacher from her combo class last year is her teacher this year. That made her transition so easy. She took her teacher flowers in the morning she was so happy to have her again. Even better she got her best school friend in her class again. They are both smart girls on top of it! Love that.
So pretty much they are all set to go. They had all they needed for their classes, new clothes and shoes, new backpacks and lunch bags, and had no homework last night so they were happy. They of coarse got a ton of homework for me to fill out last night (emergency cards, PTA membership forms, yearbook purchase, PTA volunteer schedules, etc....). I really hope they have a good year.

Such a sweet momma! Flowers for the teachers...as a former teacher, that was a wonderful gesture to start the new year!! the future classroom thing sounds cool. The amount of paper our school systems use is ridiculous?!
