ouch

Hey everyone!
I have missed blogging at you.
Our family has been very busy though.

Yes we had the usual running around but we also had tons of things happen to the ones we love around us. The best one is that my friend who we had the baby shower for had her baby. She was a healthy baby girl! Yay! Mother, father and baby are all recovering well. I will be taking them dinner on Saturday (kinda so I can cuddle with the new little one too)

But a sad thing that has happened is that my friend Caete had her Aunt pass away. The service was Tuesday. So that kinda put a damper on the week.

Last week to one of my favorite family members lost his job to the recession.

Yeah, I don't have to say anymore than that huh?
It is horrible.
I did not even know what to say to him.
Really.
What kind of optimistic words can I give him? There are not any new jobs just popping up. He is not a teeny bopper who can bounce from Burger joint A to Taco joint B only worried about his car payment. He has a family to worry about, a mortgage, multiple car payments, food, electricity, gas, insurance, phones all the bills that he has covered are now stalled. What can you possibly say to make someone feel more secure after that? Of coarse we offered to do anything and we meant it. Our home is always open to them, though I hope it does not come to them loosing their home.

The recession is personal now.
It is really here in our backyard.

I have been so nervous the past week just thanking God for all that my family has been blessed with. I was sure that I made it for church to do the cleanings that I had promised I would do. I have lit candles for my family and extended that God will continue to bless us and keep us safe.
What would we do?
We have 4 children.
If we lost everything how could we feed them?
That is a big worry for me.
I just keep praying.
and praying
and
praying.

I am going to be sure that I find as many positive things as I can to focus on. Hopefully that will keep my family in a better mental climate. Then I will try to blog on as many as possible to keep all the positive energy out there for others going through the same sad situations. I don't have a better way to correct these things for all the negative in our country right now.

Saying that, I am starting now.

Here are 5 things that make me happy
(other than my hubby and munchkins)

1- coffee

2- reading

3- hot bath

4- making cookies

5- chit chatting with buds

Okay! There is my positive spin!
I hope this helps!

Wow, so sorry about the sad news. As for the recession, it really is closer than a lot of us like to think. Now's a good time to start brushing up on any skills one may have, because you never know when you may have to support your family in the event it does hit home. But we'll all keep praying it doesn't.

What a positive spirit you have, so encouraging! I must say I like your list except I would change #4 to eating them instead!
