Okay, I have been home schooling Aimee now for 5 days and absolutely love it.
The only thing that I don't love are the

LESSON PLANS!
Yucky. I am filling them out but for High School they are supposed to be vague and I see why now. The plans I had made are not vague but were more Elementary level. Teens ask questions and I have learned in just 5 days that I can really tailor this to Aimee's interests and still keep to the curriculum, answer her questions and keep her interested in her studies all at the same time. Since she is a teen, her interests change daily, so that makes it a bit hard to plan which direction some of the reports she will do. She has been really great though. Her first report on "How did other countries view the American tragedy of 9-11?" The report isn't due until Friday but she has taken the Russian side. She has read some of their reports and how they sent us over a tear drop statue in remembrance of our souls lost to terrorist acts. She actually looked at how Eastern countries took the event as well. I was really proud of her. She chose the direction and really has read and discovered so much more than a text book could have told her about the event. We will start another one tomorrow.
So what I learned is just put "English report" down for what to work on and let her help come up with the direction of the topic. Yes I will direct it toward what we are studying, but let her help figure out the finite ideas.
I am really learning as much as Aimee.
This is such a blessing!
