We're back!

The librarians are still recovering from our most recent visit to their coveted land of books. I think most of them have come out of hiding by now. This years theme is "catch the reading bug". The munchkins caught that bug WAY BEFORE this reading program started. I think this is so funny because when they have to read for school, any book of their choosing, it is like pulling teeth.
"I hate reading! Just because you read when you were a kid doesn't mean that we are gonna like it too! My teacher is so stupid to make me do this!" These are common phrases that are thrown about when reading homework is assigned but when given the opportunity to go to the LIBRARY and read, well holy cow that is a completely different story! Now we want to check out as many books as mom will let us and we will actually read them!
Yesterday was so peaceful after our outing. They all were reading. Yes even Belle. The munchkins picked out 2 books for her Bubbles,Bubbles by Kathi Appelt and The Very Hungry Caterpillar by Eric Carle, a family favorite.
:)
Our home was amazingly different,
in quite a pleasant way.
Children were not bored
nor did they want new stuff to play.
Not one TV was on,
no yelling in the house,
all you heard was pages turning,
from the story of the lion and the mouse.
Books are entertaining,
the munchkins had to admit
with stacks of stories piled around them,
not one of them had a fit!
When bedtime came
and it was time to sleep
they all laid down and closed their eyes
and never made a peep.
