cake decorating contest

Okay, do you remember that we went to Family Fun Night at the munchkin's school to see the cake that Becca had made and someone had already bought it? Well I did not. So this weekend I made a bunch of cakes and we had our own cake decorating contest. We even invited one of the neighbor kids to enter as well. They had whatever candy we had left from Becca's original cake contest and then I made black, orange and white icing to decorate with.

Note: black icing tastes gross.

Here are the munchkins preparing their creations.
I gave them popcorn chicken to munch on while they were making their cakes hoping to cut back on the sugar intake. It worked a little bit.

Michael's entry.

Aimee's entry.

Neighbor's entry.

Becca's entry.
They were all really cute and creative.
Especially since they had to use the left over candy.

Now for the judging. I am biased. I love them all and knew who did which cake so... we kicked out the munchkins to the backyard and had Dad and Belle do the judging.
We had one tie.

Michael got Most Scary Cake.

Aimee tied for the Most Creative Cake.

Neighbor tied with Aimee with her nose spider cake.

Becca won the Most Candy Used, I was so surprised!
The munchkins all had so much fun, we decided to do this every year.
Maybe next year we will invite more friends to play.
Loved it!

AAARRRRGGGHH! The cursed black tongue disease! It comes around only at Halloween! Fortunately, it can be cured by eating enough caramel corns and broccoli! Together. Twice a day!

A sendid idea, the cake contest! They were all winners!
