I really love to plan parties!
One of my girlfriends at church will be having her first baby in a few months. She is so excited. She has wanted this baby for so long! When I heard that she was gong to have her baby I conspired with my friend Pamela that we should throw her a baby shower at church so that we could all welcome this precious little girl into our church family. Little did we know that we are the only ones who thought this. Incredible! Doesn't everyone love a good party? This is one of the best reasons to have one too!
So our little party has now turned into a party for 70!
Yikes!
I am actually kinda excited about this though.
We are throwing this party for men and women. Since the two of them have been trying for so long and Pamela and I feel that this is a special event for both parents not just the mommy we are making it an all out party. It is gonna be so cool!
The first part will be feminine though.
We are planning the typical light snacks, flowers, gifts and a few silly games.
Very classy with earthy colors and mellow tones.
A simple diaper cake as the centerpiece should be acceptable.
See and some tasteful light snacks.
Then we will be taking pictures of coarse to put in a book for the mommy for her remembrances. We are asking people attending to either donate a poem, parenting advice or recipe to this book as well, making it even more personal.
Then if you stay and help us clean up we will be serving:
for the gents, have a b-b-q, play some baby poker ( all you can bet with is baby items that you then donate to the family), take bets on when the baby will arrive and her stats (again the $$ that they bet with will go to the parents for what the baby still needs) and just hanging out having fun together exchanging stories about our munchkins and giving unwanted advice to the to-be-parents.
I think that it sounds fun.
As it gets closer to the date (2/14) I will let you know how it is going!
I am so excited!!!

Oh how I wish I had someone throw me my shower. Both times I arranged the party myself, and the second time only two people came. *sighs* my pregnancies weren't very happy occasions, I hope it's more enjoyable for your friend. I'll keep them in my prayers.
