My daughter's best friend let us know a few weeks ago that she had not had a family birthday party since she moved to America to live with her mother.
How sad huh?
Well I could not let that happen.
Since we include her on all our family adventures boring and exciting, we shared her 16th birthday with her "munchkin family style"
Becca made her a card and a bracelet.
Aimee made her a cake from scratch.
I made her use whole wheat cake flour.
If it wasn't healthy in some way, shape or form, then it would not be a family cake.
Also, all my munchkins have had a Pooh Bear on their 1st birthday cake.
So up in the corner, I made Aimee put a Pooh Bear.
Gotta have traditions.
She loves to cook. Ratatouille is one of her favorite movies too. So we got her that and her own cookie cutters and cookie sheet. We are expecting cookies from her any day now!!
Belle loved the next part when we broke into the cake.
Aimee did a good job.
I am so proud of her on so many levels.
This was a gift in itself to her friend.
The gift of family tradition.
Sam was so thankful.
I am the most thankful that she would allow us to share such a special memory with her, her first "family birthday in America."
