I love it!
Michael Jr is really getting into his Irish Mexican heritage report. We are finding a ton of interesting facts that will never make it to his report, but they are still interesting. One neat fact is that the original real Zorro is from Ireland. Didn't know that did ya? Yeah it seems that his parents moved to Mexico when he was a little boy that is when he became a Mexican citizen. So Zorro was a foreigner. Did you know that the current President of Mexico is half Irish and Half Mexican? Yup president Fox is Half and Half too!
Becca is doing her first report also. She is doing hers on Polar Bears. We found out that they are going extinct. Their land is disappearing because of global warming and that is cutting down on the life of the food that they eat also. She is taking this report very seriously.
Aimee has been doing reports all year, but my favorite that she did is the creator of the chocolate chip cookie. The Toll House Cookie recipe was the first chocolate chip cookie recipe ever. The report was supposed to be on a woman who made a significant contribution to our society. Aimee was a little nervous at first with the choice of a cookie creator but I told her that any woman who has ever felt a bit menstrual can tell you that the woman who came up with chocolate chip cookies is pivotal in our society! The teacher agreed with that and gave her I believe an A.
The Munchkins are learning all sorts of cool things this year....and so am I.

I have been doing some research into my ancestors too and have discovered a strong Acadian/Ojibwa link! It is fascinating!
You are so right, it is fascinating! I think everyone should do a little bit of this just to find out more about their own history.
Wow! I had no idea Zoro was One of The People from the Aulde Sod.
I will want to get to read Michael's report when he gets it back! I will really look forward to seeing Becca's polar bear work, and my guess is that she will draw us a bear too! Now, where do I get those chocolate chip cookies that Aimee wrote about? Hmmmm.
Love,
Grandma
