A DAY AT THE AYSO PARK

My handsome young prince had his first soccer game of the spring season on Saturday. The game was at 10:30 am and at 9:45 am we were all dressed and ready to go! Never can find close parking for a 10:30 game, so we were ready for a hike. We all jumped in the van with water bottles and snacks on hand. Hurried to the field and found that there was oodles of parking available. We had choice parking right up in the front of the park! Oh yeah this is SPRING soccer, or off season soccer. Oh well we were early but that way we didn't have to hustle to get a good spot on our playing field to set up all our chairs. So we grab all of our stuff and head to the table that tells you what field that you are playing on. They tell us that we are on the North West North field. Cool we are on a hill with shade! We take our load of chairs and baby gunk and walk to the North West field and plant ourselves to watch the game before us. We should be starting our game in like 15 minutes. We have dark green uniforms and are called the Shamrocks. The other teams that we see here are orange and gray. Michael Jr sees across two fields his coach. "Hey dad, why is my coach way over there?" Yep the field was changed. Now we are on the North West South field. Great. Pack up all the goldfish and chairs. Lets travel. Okay now we are definitely on the right field. Unpack again. Thank goodness this game is running a little late. Go Shamrocks! The kids are ready. They go out to the field and start warming up. Where are the release papers? We have to forfeit if we don't have our medical releases when the game starts. Criminy Christmas! Okay, I have an idea. Everyone sign a new one and turn that one in. Yes! Finally! Go Shamrocks! Our game just started. Its 11:00. Michael Jr is Left Forward. He is happy. Come on kids talk to each other. Pass! Hey Michael is open. HEY KID! QUIT ELBOWING MY SON!!! Get the ball Michael! Kick it! GOAL!!!!
My son made the first goal of the season! Oh my gosh, your kidding...he just got open again....GOAL!!!! Yes that is right MY SON MADE THE FIRST 2 GOALS OF THE SEASON!!! Right on! You know I think this is going to be an awesome season. GO SHAMROCKS!
