This Thanksgiving we were so busy working on the house that I had EVERYONE pitch in and help with the cooking. Michael Jr made the cranberries himself. No they are not from a can (yuck). He actually used fresh cranberries and cooked them for us. They were really good too.
My handsome hubby deep fried the turkey. That saved us tons of hours in the kitchen right there. It was fast( well compare the hour he spent to the 8 it would have taken me to roast it) and tasty.
Aimee made the sweet potatoes. It was her first attempt ever and she did an excellent job. She actually tried them this year as well and has decided that they really are good.
Becca made the green bean casserole. A wonderful job she did as well.
She was also the cake maker. We had a delicious cinnamon chocolate cake. Of coarse she made from scratch. It was really good.
I was the supervisor basically. I did cook as well though. I made the pumpkin pie from the Halloween pumpkins, deviled eggs, spinach dip and stuffing. The stuffing was ok (new recipe that I won't recommend) but the rest was better. So it all turned out nicely, busy but nice.
