Oh Crud!

Yesterday I forgot Michael Jr had an audiologist appointment.
He goes just twice a year to make sure that his hearing is not diminishing anymore than it already has. It is impossible to just call and say "Hi I need an appointment on Wednesday after 1 pm because the kids are out early and that would really fit my schedule." This is the surgical department(why I don't know) and they will just laugh at you and fit you in when it is convenient for them, which is usually 2 or 3 months after you call. I guess it is because they are specialists we let them do that to us. Whatever.

So yesterday my oldest daughter reminded me of Michael's appointment, 15 minutes before I needed to be there, darn it! So I called to cancel and reschedule. Yes most people would just let it go. When you don't show up they realize you have forgotten or just didn't want to come in. I was an office manager at an orthodontist office so I know all the excuses for missed appointments. That is why out of respect for the office staff I called and told them I completely forgot the appointment and was ready to reschedule. I already had my calendar ready for March. The receptionist then said " I have some openings for tomarrow. The first opening is at 9:00." What? No 3 month wait? Oh yeah I jumped on that like a sale on Dunkin Donuts Coffee! That just does not happen. In all the years we have been going to see the audiologist we have never gotten an appointment that quickly. God must really want him to keep up on his hearing health. Thank goodness!

So now I am off to shower, grab my java and primp to take the little man to listen to tones on a machine. Oh I suppose I should wake him up to so he can get ready. Wish us luck!
