our weekend

Okay, the camera ran out of power on Saturday right when I needed it! I think I need to go shopping for my own Christmas gift, but not until the after Christmas sales. Anyway the munchkins had a VERY full weekend. We started out on Saturday at 7:30 am on the soccer field for Michael Jr's game. We were super nervous because this team is undefeated and kicked our butts severely the last time we played them. We were also stuck with a ref that did not like our team from the get go. Lucky us. Our team got called on every little thing they did, let's remember that they are only 9 and 10 years old. Most refs will kinda remind the boys "hey keep both feet down when you throw the ball back in the game okay? Next time I will have to get you on that alright?" Very age appropriate response in my mind. Now the other team, I know I am sounding rather"pity our team, boo hoo" on this but, they pushed our boys down, threw the ball in with one foot up, deflected balls coming at THEIR faces with their arms and no penalties were called. I just don't think that was very fair. Our coach kept his cool and said "the boys are doing fine, they can do this." They kicked the other team to the curb!!! It was great to see that even with the bad ref calls our boys kept it clean and still beat the undefeated "fireballs!"

Okay that game is over. Let's run home and everybody eat something healthy. We changed the baby and got Becca ready for her game while I cleaned up the house a bit. 11:00 we left for the Becca's game. That ended up being a bit late and started closer to 12:00. Becca had to play against 2 of her friends from school. One of these friends is Ariel. She is an incredible goalie. She is just totally adorable and sweet, you would not look at her and think "soccer ball magnet". Only 2 balls ever passed her the entire time she was goalie, which was 3 quarters. Becca's team really had to work. They did and won by 2 goals! Another great game watched and participated in by the munchkins!

Then home again to remember we are out of diapers, Yikes! But that is okay because I still needed to run to the market to get things for our Youth Group ornament craft night's dinner. Believe it or not even that turned out great. We had tons of crafts to do. The kids even learned to use a band saw to make ornaments. Father taught them how to use it to carefully cut out their designs of snowmen, stars or stockings. They turned out so nice. The kids made candy wreaths, snowman bulbs, painted pine cones gold and silver(Belle did glue and glitter), they made cards and pretty beaded votive candles. Afterwards we had chili, cornbread, salad and homemade cookies. While we cleaned up the messes the kids all watched A Scooby Doo Christmas and part of The Nightmare Before Christmas. The munchkins came right home and fell asleep. It was great.

Then on Sunday we got out the Christmas stuff. We only got out the main stuff this year since the house is under construction. They are not wanting though for decorations, oh no. Our front room is covered in Christmas. I will post the tree they decorated when my camera is working better. So Sunday we did the church thing, the tree thing with popcorn and a movie, then Dad treated us to McDonald's and/or Yoshinoya for dinner. All in all it was a pretty nice weekend. To stay with that theme I am making sugar cookies to try and maintain the Christmas spirit through the week. I hope it works. :)
