Farwell Party, wish me luck!

One of the parish members at church will be leaving tomorrow to return to his home in Italy. He has finished his dissertation for school and has to go find work back home. He has lived here for many years and has made many close friends at our parish who will miss him immensely.
So as event coordinator for the parish I am in charge of his farewell party. I am incredibly nervous right now.
It is in a few hours.
I have chosen to try a potluck so everyone can feel they are participating in his goodbye. I hate potlucks because I have no idea what is coming to be served nor do I know how much. I tried making appropriate recipes available but only a few were picked up. It is the control that I have lost that is making me CRAZY right now. Still here are a few pictures of how I have set up to start the evening.
to begin at 7 pm and right now I should be thinking about getting ready but it is 84 degrees in the house, which isn't that bad, but it is I know this one is dark but you get the idea. Classy with just a touch of rustic. This is scheduledsooooooo sticky! As soon as I shower I am gonna be stinky again. Oh well. I hope I remembered to leave the air conditioner on in the Hall.

The tables look so nice! I am sure your party was a delight for everyone! I'll be eager to hear about it!

I had a crazy day this afternoon with my tea party-the four manors all backed up their plumbing and right after my desert a herd of plumbers came and spent four hours running in and out of our manors with hoses, snakes, tool belts, from roof to outside traps and back again. It had been working when my guests came, and one of them squealed,"I swear, all I did was wee!"
