Monumental Moments

Dear Lord,
yesterday was a monumental day for my oldest and my youngest daughters.
Belle, the youngest has been holding people's hands and walking for a while now. At church this weekend she even took steps with out any help from one munchkin to the other. That was a great delight to the congregation and to us. Well not so much to me because that means she is becoming even more independent and won't be my baby much longer.
Yesterday she was in our living room with Aimee and I left to go into the kitchen to get something. I suppose she wanted to go to because Aimee said she just let go of the coffee table she was holding on to and followed me, WALKING ON HER OWN! I turned around in the kitchen and there she was right behind me with her cute little baby toddle.
She has not wanted to stop since she did that. All over the house she has been walking. My littlest munchkin is walking. She is so proud of herself, as she should be. She has taken her first steps into a bigger world. She is officially a toddler now.
Monumental moment.

My oldest munchkin also had a major moment yesterday that we also were not planning on quite yet. Remember the dentist appointment? She was supposed to have teeth pulled but the Dr. got sick? So I made an appointment for Monday to consult with the orthodontist. She went in sat down and our conversation was like this:

Dr looking at her x-rays: "She will get braces on the top and spacers in the back today"

Me: " Really? Um I would really like to not have those 4 teeth taken out. Can we work around them?"

Dr: "Fine. She will get braces on the top and spacers in the back today."

Next thing you know, Aimee is leaning back in the chair with metal brackets stuck on her teeth. She still looks beautiful. How lucky is she? They even let her pick her colors for her new braces and that helped a little bit. When she is more comfortable with them I can post a picture and show you how cute she looks with them. She is just growing up too. Aimee and Belle had such big important days yesterday. I am scared to breathe. I might miss something else wonderful as they change so quickly.

She is doing pretty well with lots of asprin. She did fine with the homemade pizza last night and she had no problem snacking on Goldfish crackers. I think her favorite snack was the ice cream. I had to spoil her with bad for you foods because I feel her pain. :( Poor baby.
