Last night I went out to water the tree that we got Michael for Father's Day, it was not looking too hot. I am nervous that it has kinda gone into shock. I know they do that when they are transplanted but I just would prefer not to have an expensive stick in my front yard. So I went to the waterhose and turned on the water to save my purple wanna be tree. The liquid flowed out of the hose into the quiet of our neighborhood. You could hear the splashes of water hitting the dirt in the new planters below.
The weather was nice. There was a bit of a breeze blowing and the sun was almost set. If you were to walk down our street a good amount of the families would have their windows open just a bit to enjoy the slight wind chasing their curtains before bed. Most homes different television shows were visible from front windows as families sat down to watch favorite shows together.
Then here he came.
"What's your problem? Huh?"
Michael Jr comes out of the house yelling.
"I said what's your problem?"
He comes up to me like a tough guy trying to start a fight. Right up to my face he says "Well?"
I looked at him and lifted my right eyebrow questioningly.
I know he wasn't talking to me like that.
He takes off his shirt and throws it to the ground.
"Fine Mom! Bring it on!"
I see the sneaky smile on his face now.
"Bring it on Mom!"
He was in my face too.
"You want it? Then you get it!" I told him..
Then I got him with the hose.
He had me chase him all over the front yard with the hose just soaking him. He was laughing so hard. It was totally cute."Is that all you've got Mom?" I heard him yell.
Ooooh are you wet now little boy!
We must have played out there for a half an hour. It was great. I love impromptu moments like that. Our poor neighbors who just wanted a quite evening at home watching CSI or something and here we are outside being super loud.
I hope they were jealous.

Ohg, I just lovew that water figth story! I llove the way you told it!
I sure hope your red plum tree perks up! The heat must have been really hard on it, besides the transplanting. This may be a totally dumb idea for a plum tree, but I put left over coffee or grounds on my plants for acid in the soil. I feel better about the price of wated coffee if it goes to the plants!
Love,
Mom
I also think I should slow down in typing to you-the above looks like it was written in the dark with my hands in gloves!
never heard of that for trees but I have done it for my roses. Otherwise I am such a green geek that I put that in our green waste can for the city. It's green waste right? Then they use it in their mulches too so I guess I could probably use it on the tree to. Thanks for the idea.
