My munchkins must actually be listening to me. When they treat each other badly you will often hear me say, "Now is that what you think Jesus would do in this situation? Do you think He would like what your doing?" Then the typical "noooo" with the eye roll follows. I have said that to them since they were little little. Never really had any proof of them hearing any of it because they usually did the same objectionable rude comment or physical action to a sibling again in the future.
Now while driving my gibungus, gas guzzling, huge van of chaos to take my precious munchkins to school, a smaller yet older vehicle cut me off. "Excuse me! Was I in your way?" was heard escaping my lips. "MOM!?!" The oldest munchkin laughed and looked at me. The smaller car then made a turn right where I needed to be also. This is a small street with a signal that can fit a few cars. The smaller car when turning took up diagonally 4 cars worth of room! How rude!!! "Don't think my big old van ain't gonna fit in there to Moron!" I squeezed so close to that car that I could have Michael Jr. blow snot out my passenger window and it would hit the driver door no problem. "You Egghead! Now you can wait till I get across the street and then you can get in behind me!" hee hee I laughed.
"Mom? Is that what Jesus would do? Are you acting like he would? Do you think he is proud of what you did?" Aimee asked me. "Yeah Mom, do you think it really matters who is first at the light?" Michael Jr. chimed in. "OOOOOHHH Mom" Becca followed.
Great.
I got bit in the but with my own words of wisdom.
I had to agree they were right. I apologized to them for overreacting. I behaved badly.
(But boy it felt good)
