Becca & Aimee

Okay, I was crazy busy this week! Thank goodness it is Friday!
Becca got an award at school the other day and I was so busy I forgot to charge my camera to get the pictures of her receiving her award. Bummer. I was there though and she knows that I was there. I was just the goof parent who gets her posed for a picture, pulled out my camera and nothing happened. Lovely. On the bright side Becca gets awards almost monthly for her academic successes, so I will have another chance very soon.
Oh, and her award was for excellence in reading! She was tested at the beginning of the year (like 3 weeks ago) to see where to place her and what she needs to work on to get through the 2nd grade. My daughter got 93% of the test correct. AWESOME. That is the only word that covers her achievement perfectly. She did incredibly well. She was mad that she did not get them all right! Silly girl, why would you need an education then? Let your teacher challenge you!! Because I won't let you get bored with reading! We started reading The Magician's Nephew together about a week ago and she is really following along well. Very cool huh?
Oh and Aimee has been the brilliant butterfly as well! Just about every paper she turns in is an A+! She really takes pride in her school work and I am proud of that. She is a really good girl who is about to be an official young woman. Tuesday she will be an official teenager. That is one reason why I have been so busy, I have been looking for the perfect promise ring for her. I will let her have the final say on which one is most her of coarse. I am so proud that she has decided that for her birthday she is pledging herself to stay pure. I think that is an incredible gift she can give herself. I am just beaming with pride on this one. She even came up with it herself. I did think to get her a matching shirt I saw that said "Really Great and Worth the Wait". It was in pink though and that is more a Becca color than Aimee. I hope that this is a great inspiration for her younger siblings as well.
