Whoo Hoo!

Michael's first official soccer game of the season was on Saturday.
We got to the game with light jackets on because it was a bit chilly and cloudy.
He started as defense (#5) , not his favorite position, but he is really good at it.

For no reason at all, that sun decided to come on out and watch the boys play.
So the coach moved Michael to Left forward.
That made his day!
Belle and I were a bit hot!
She did not enjoy the game quite so much then.

When the game ended we went to go pick up Aimee from a sleepover.

She was very tired and some of the girls had done mean pranks to the girls who had fallen asleep. Aimee was one of those girls who fell under the spell of the sandman. She woke up with pictures drawn on her face. One of the girls her whole face was scribbled on. Poor baby, I was really upset with the girls who had done this and was ready to yell at them but the mother who was having the party had already called their mom's and sent them home. Good! I was ready to lecture their little hearts out about how we are supposed to treat others and how disrespectful that was to the birthday girl (who also got drawn on), her family, her home, and her friends. Again the mother had already covered this with them. So basically all I had to do was comfort my daughter (who felt justified by the illustrators being kicked out) and take her home.

I had to hurry though because Dad had a friend over to help him frame. I am big on if you come to my house and help I must feed you. I will not feed you pizza and beer. You will get a decent meal for helping us out. I ran home and through some ribs on the grill and made some mashed potatoes really quick. Then through together some fresh fruit and ice cream. I tossed it all on a platter, ran it out to the picnic table, told them there was some ice water in the ice chest then grabbed Becca and took off for her first soccer game of the season!

She started as goalie. That was not how she wanted to start her season, but thank goodness we had been practicing for the goalie box.

By the second quarter she got the same defense position as Michael did.
Then the last quarter she was Center forward!

Here she is after her very first official AYSO soccer game!

After such a action packed game (they won by 1 point) we went home to see what Daddy and his friend had accomplished while we were frying at the AYSO field.

Wow can those men work!
Uncle Mark even stopped by for an inspection!

WE HAVE WALLS!

Whoa! what a weekend! I am so impressed by all the progress the soccer stars are enjoying, and by the walls Michael and pal put up! What a big job!! Belle's little face at the hot soccer match made me giggle. I sure would have liked to know what she was thinking about then! Possibly, "Ice cream. Must have ice cream. When can I go home!"

Now, as for the mean girls who wrote on the precious face of my darling first grandaughter, I say PHOOEY! BAD FORM! RUDE! What goes around comes around.

Most distressing.

I am looking forward to a time at the end of the month when I can tool on down and enjoy some face time with you all!
Love,
Mom
